MWEE Opportunity

Taking Action

Unit Summary

The focus of both Learning Experiences 6.1 and 6.2 in this Unit– stewardship and climate action– are meant to be the culmination of your students’ cumulative knowledge, skills and attitudes developed in Unit 1-5. By now, you should be experienced at identifying the four essential elements of a MWEE (Issue Definition, Outdoor Field Experience, Synthesis and Conclusion and Environmental Action Project) embedded in the prior Units 1-5. Now it is your turn to find the opportunities in Unit 6 that best align with your local context — from the school building itself, the schoolyard, the neighborhood, the sub-watershed and on and on … the ripple effect.
